Alston Georges '22 Named 2018 Young Cultural Ambassador

Congratulations to Indian Creek freshman Alston Georges who was chosen to serve as a 2018 Young Cultural Ambassador through the American Turkish Association of Washington, DC. Alston was one of fifteen high school students from DC, Maryland, and Virginia to achieve this honor. He will have the opportunity to visit and meet with a member of Congress, attend a session on Capitol Hill, and tour the Turkish Embassy, among other activities and opportunities.

Alston was awarded a certificate of appreciation at the annual DC Turkish Festival last Sunday, September 30 at Freedom Plaza. At the festival, Alston will be volunteeringvolunteered with other young ambassadors in the children’s tent and in the Turkish coffee/tea tent, where he read tea leaves, a Turkish tradition since the 16th Century.
