Learning Support in Lower School

The Learning Lab for Pre-K through grade 5 is run by our Lower School Learning Specialist. Our Lower School Learning Specialist coordinates students' instructional/testing accommodations as well as provides targeted small-group reading interventions for students who are reading below their instructional level.

All Lower School students will have their reading progress assessed and tracked throughout the school year. Students who score below their instructional level will receive targeted reading interventions with the Learning Specialist within a small group setting.  Reading progress is continually monitored until that student is reading at their appropriate instructional level. Students who continue to struggle would be recommended for additional learning coaching. ICS can provide on-site learning coaching to those students for an additional fee.
Indian Creek school is a co-educational, college preparatory independent school, located in Crownsville, Maryland.  Students in Pre-K3 through grade 12 receive a vibrant educational experience based on excellent academics steeped in strong student-teacher connections.
