The Application Process

  • 1. Inquire

    Submit an online inquiry form. An admissions representative will contact you to answer any questions you have about Indian Creek.

    This is not required if you plan to submit an application.
  • 2. Campus Tour or Open House

    Open House dates are currently available on our website here. Attending an Open House is not required especially if you would like to have an individual tour of campus.  

    Individual tours of the campus can also be scheduled instead of attending an Open House. Individual tours of the campus can be self-scheduled through our online portal or by emailing admission@indiancreekschool.org
  • 3. Apply Online

    Submit your online application and the $50 application fee on the Indian Creek School portal. This is the first step to formally apply.

    Please note, all supporting documents must be received in order for an application to be complete and ready for an admission decision. Applications are due to be completed by January 17th. All applications completed after January 17th will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • 4. Request Transcript

    School transcripts can be requested through the application portal or requested directly from your child's current school. All school transcripts should be sent directly to the Indian Creek School Admission Office by your child's current school.
  • 5. Request Teacher Recommendations

    Grades Pre-K 3 – Kindergarten
    If your student is currently enrolled in a program, please have their lead teacher complete this confidential form. If your student is not currently enrolled in school please have a non-family member complete this form (ex: music teacher, swim instructor, etc) The recommendation form can be found virtually through the admissions portal. 

    Grades 1-5
    Please submit the confidential teacher recommendation form to your student’s current teacher. The recommendation form can be found through the online portal. 

    Grades 6-8 
    Please submit the confidential teacher recommendation form to your student’s current English and Math teachers. If your child has one homeroom teacher for all subjects, please use the separate homeroom recommendation form. The recommendation form can be found through the online portal. 

    Grades 9-12
    Please submit the confidential teacher recommendation forms to the student’s current Math and English teachers. The recommendation forms can be requested digitally through the admissions portal.
  • 6. Classroom/Shadow Visit

    A required classroom visit can be scheduled for applicants to grades K - Grade 12 through the CreekNet portal. Classroom visits are only available following the submission of a completed application.
  • 7. Testing

    Pre-K3 – Kindergarten
    Students entering Pre-K and Kindergarten will participate in a play-based, observational, screening during a scheduled visit.

    Grades 1-5
    Students will test on campus during the Saturday, February 8th testing day. The testing session will consist of reading, writing, and math sections as well as individual interviews.

    Grades 6-10
    Students applying for grades 6 - 10 are required to take either the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) or the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). Both the SSAT and the ISEE offer “At Home” test options for applicants who prefer a virtual test administration. 

    To register, visit www.ssat.org or www.iseetest.org.  When registering, please list ICS as one of the schools to which your child is applying so that test results will be sent directly to us. Our SSAT school code:
    • SSAT – school code 4076
    • ISEE – school code 571491
    Grades 11-12
    Students applying to grades 11 and 12 have the option to take the ISEE, SSAT, or PSAT and submit scores directly to ICS as part of their completed application to the school.
  • Optional: Financial Aid Application

    Applications for financial aid will open every year in October.

    If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please read the information on the Financial Aid Application page about applying for financial aid. This process is to be completed concurrently with the application for admission.

    Financial aid will be limited after our March notification date. 
  • Optional: STEM Program Application (9th and 10th Grades only)

    Qualified students in grades 8-9 may apply to participate in a formal STEM program - a rigorous, intensive program that emphasizes research and creative problem-solving. As a supplement to the standard science and math curriculum, the program provides exceptional preparation for pursuing STEM fields at the college level.

  • Optional: Evergreen Institute

    The Evergreen Institute is dedicated to fostering growth through workshops, collaborative learning, and leadership development, complemented by life coaching coursework and certification. In partnership with Anne Arundel Community College’s Life Coaching Certification Program, we prepare our students (fellows) for mentorship roles both within our school and beyond.

  • Optional: Eagles With A Purpose

    Eagles With A Purpose gives students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to gain a better understanding of social justice, participate in community engagement, realize individual and collective agency in meeting the needs of others, advocate for social justice, and engage in reflection. The program allows students the opportunity to explore their passions through hands-on activities that utilizes their abilities for the benefit of the community at large.

Indian Creek School admits qualified applicants of any race, religion, color, sexual orientation, and national or ethnic origin.
All students enrolled at ICS starting fall of 2025 must be fully immunized according to the Maryland State Department of Health requirements for school attendance. ICS will not accept any religious exemptions.
