Lower School Well-being Program

  • SEL “Fly Five” Curriculum
    • Fly Five is a kindergarten to eighth-grade social and emotional learning curriculum developed on the core belief that, in order for students to be academically, socially, and behaviorally successful in, out of, and beyond school, they need to learn a set of social and emotional competencies, namely cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, and self-control (C.A.R.E.S.)
  • Weekly school counselor visits and lessons
  • Friday Clubs
    • Students in first through fifth grades participate in cross-grade level clubs on Friday afternoons.  For forty-five minutes each week, students can learn more about a new sport, a budding creative passion, or a STEM initiative.
  • Outdoor Pre-K Program
    • A signature program for Pre-K where students have opportunities for outdoor experiences and education, collaborative play, hands-on learning, and STEM activities.
  • Creek buddies
    • A mentoring program where Upper School and Middle School students support our lower school through class readings, discussions, and presentations.
Indian Creek school is a co-educational, college preparatory independent school, located in Crownsville, Maryland.  Students in Pre-K3 through grade 12 receive a vibrant educational experience based on excellent academics steeped in strong student-teacher connections.
