Indian Creek Trustee Rick Powell Receives Kay Laughtman Mentoring Award
Indian Creek School congratulates Board Member and alumna parent Rick Powell, who received The Kay Laughtman Mentoring Award last week from the Direct Marketing Association of Washington. Rick was honored at the annual Best of Direct Celebration on December 5.
The Kay Laughtman Mentoring Award is presented annually to a professional, nominated by their peers, who has acted as an outstanding mentor and guide in the career of direct response fundraisingl. Kay Lautman (1938-2012) was a pioneer in the field of Direct Response Fundraising, but more than that, she was a mentor to many in the field — a woman who recognized the critical importance of strengthening our industry by nurturing new talent. Rick’s work with The Production Management Group, Ltd. has earned him this recognition.
In addition to his work at The Production Management Group, Ltd. and his mentoring of young professionals, Rick is also a very active Board leader here at Indian Creek School and father to Indian Creek alumna Hannah Powell ’16, who is thriving at Washington College. Congratulations to Rick on this achievement.
