Eagles Athletics Complex Named Official Training Facility for Annapolis Blues FC

New expansion team in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the Annapolis Blues FC, have signed an agreement with Indian Creek School, an independent school in Crownsville, Maryland, to become the ‘Official Training Facility for Annapolis Blues FC’ for the upcoming 2023 Season.

Indian Creek School is a premiere college-preparatory school for students in Pre-K through grade 12, located on a wooded 114-acre campus off Generals Highway in Crownsville. Indian Creek has been known for providing a school experience focused on kindness, well-being, and educational excellence since 1973.
In addition to great academics, ICS also provides a full schedule of athletic activities, including soccer, for both boys and girls all the way up through the varsity level for the Eagles on their state-of-the-art athletic complex on campus.  These facilities - namely their two, full international-sized turf soccer fields which feature an alternative infill mixture and shock pad that ensures safety to athletes as well as protecting the environment and human health, provides overall cooler temperatures, reduces player injuries, and performs equally in all conditions ensuring that games, practices and training can continue regardless of weather - are what drew Annapolis Blues FC to the Indian Creek facilities.

Blues Head Coach Colin Herriot, who has trained his prior teams with Maryland United FC at Indian Creek School, has said, “This is one of the finest soccer training environments in the Mid-Atlantic region, and we are excited to get started at Indian Creek with our players and this new team at this great facility!  We are all tremendously fortunate to have such a top level training environment to enhance our chances at having a very successful season on the pitch.”

The Blues will begin their training in mid-April at Indian Creek School.

Head of School, Booth Kyle, who has served at Indian Creek School since 2019, welcomes the relationship between the school, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, and the Annapolis Blues FC in saying, “The ICS athletics program is a source of pride for our school community. Having the Annapolis Blues as a partner and training at our beautiful athletics complex will deepen that pride. We strive to foster a culture of kindness, well-being and excellence at the school. The Blues understand that. We look forward to supporting them and cheering for them and having them serve as an inspiration for our students and their families.”

In addition to training at ICS, Annapolis Blues FC also plans to offer tickets and gameday experiences to ICS students and families at Annapolis Blues home matches. Annapolis Blues FC looks forward to connecting with students who are interested in learning more about professional sports organizations and the sports industry in general, providing opportunities to meet with Blues front office executives, and inviting them to take part in other community programs that the Club will be involved in during the summer in the Annapolis and Chesapeake Region.

Annapolis Blues FC will start their NPSL season on May 13 away at Greenville United in North Carolina.  Prior to that, the Club will be playing in a pre-season ‘friendly’ match vs. the Philadelphia Union Developmental Squad on May 10 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, and will play their NPSL Home Opener on June 3 vs. FC Frederick at 7:00 PM, also at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
