First Grade Programmers Build Mars Rover

During their Space unit, the first grade students studied the landscape of Mars, learned how NASA has studied Mars, and thought about what they might like to explore on Mars. Then they planned and designed their own Mars rover. Once they planned their rover, the students used 3D printing pens to create the tools they thought their rover would need to study Mars. Finally, they constructed their rovers using the SAM Labs blocks and took their rovers for a spin around "Mars"! We were able to complete this project thanks to the generous STEM grant from the AFCEA Educational Foundation Scholarship Program!
