Eagles LAX Wins Bracket in the 6th Annual Okie O'Connor Tournament

On Saturday, April 8, Indian Creek Varsity Boys Lacrosse won their division in the 6th Annual Okie O'Connor Tourney, hosted by Glen Burnie High School.

The Eagles soundly won game one, defeating Old Mill  18-4.  Highlights of this game included six goals and three assists by senior Benny Carter, six goals and one assist from senior Will Flint, three goals and one assist from frosh Caton Crowder, additional goals by juniors Aiden Evans, Ben Tyburski, and Noah Smarowski, and two assists by Tyler Stroble. Creek's offensive domination was elevated by junior goalie Ty Spencer's 11 saves. The Eagles went 14 for 22 at the cross, primarily with Daniel Eckroad '23 handling the face-off duties. Stellar defense was played by the trio of Hunter Walls '24, Jake Berry '25, and Eckroad. 

The Eagles squared of against Calvert High School for the red bracket championship game. ICS jumped out to a 4-1 lead early in the first quarter, but the score differential was cut to 5-4 by halftime. After a tightly contested third quarter, the Eagles came out with a big fourth quarter run to put the game away and win 15-8 to take the title. In this championship game, Creek was again led by Carter with six goals /one assist, Flint with three goals, Stroble with two goals, and Evans , Crowder, and Smarowski with a goal each.  Spencer was clutch again, with another 11 saves, supported by the defense of Walls, Eckroad ,and Berry. The Eagles went 16 of 22 from the face-off cross, with the majority handled by Eckroad.

Other notable contributors at the tourney included Jaeden Simms '25, who picked up several key ground balls and did a great job clearing.  Liam Corson '25 also had some key clears in both games and helped seal the wins controlling some ground balls.
