2021-22 Admissions and Athletics Department Administrative Transitions Announced
Indian Creek School is pleased to announce several administrative transitions for the 2021-22 academic school year. These restructured teams will optimize the School’s Admissions and Athletics departments to enhance our Pre-K through twelfth grade campus community.
2021-22 Admissions Team: PK - 8 Admission Director Christina Mueller, Upper School Admission Director Tyler Larkin, Assistant Director of PK-12 Admissions (TBA), Upper School Admissions Visit Manager Robin DePaolis
2021-22 Athletics Team: Interim Athletic Director Jason Werner, Assistant Athletic Director & Athletic Trainer Ron Turner
The Office of Admission will be reorganized with new leadership and within a team construct. Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement John Bonhom will continue his oversight of the Admissions team.
Christina Mueller will expand her responsibilities as our new PK-8 Admission Director. “Over the past five years, I have enjoyed watching the students I’ve enrolled into Lower School become successful Middle and Upper schoolers,” she shares. “I’m excited to be a part of introducing our incredible school to Pre-K to 8th grade students next year and have the opportunity to watch them continue through the Upper School.”
As previously announced, current Director of Upper School Admission Carol Mercer will transition to the role of Middle School Assistant Principal next year.
Current Athletic Director Tyler Larkin will transition to a new administrative role in July, serving in the dual roles of Director of Upper School Admission and Director of Outreach and Campus Programs. Mr. Larkin came to ICS in 2018, and over the past three years he has succeeded in elevating the performance of our athletes and teams, while remaining true to the ICS mission of creating well-rounded students of strong character. Tyler is an effective administrator because he enjoys working with students and families, and this ability will serve him well in his new, comprehensive role. With Upper School Admissions, Outreach, and Campus Programs under his umbrella, Tyler will work to build strong enrollment at the Upper School, engage with leaders across the local areas to share the ICS vision, and oversee the management of our athletics complex. Mr. Larkin is thrilled to embrace this new role next year. “This is an exciting time at Indian Creek. I’m proud to be able to share our school with the community and to help show the world what it means to be an Eagle.”
As Mr. Larkin immerses himself in his new role, current Assistant Athletic Director Jason Werner has agreed to serve as Interim Director of Athletics for grades 6-12 next year. Mr. Werner will continue to work closely with Mr. Larkin as he steps into his administrative role. He has been a member of the ICS Mathematics faculty for five years and served as Varsity Boys Lacrosse coach since 2015, coaching the Eagles to two MIAA Championship appearances and winning the title in 2018. “Indian Creek athletics have been steadily on the rise . I am honored to serve our student-athletes, coaches, and community as we continue this progress.” Mr. Werner will be supported in this endeavor by Assistant Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer Ron Turner.
Robin DePaolis will work with the admissions team in her new role as Upper School Admissions Visit Manager, coordinating shadow days and student tours for grades 9-12. Ms. DePaolis will also serve as Upper School Student Center Manager next year.
Finally, Indian Creek is in the final stages of hiring an Assistant Director of PK-12 Admissions to support the work of the enrollment team. Look for more details to be shared in the School’s “Welcome New Faculty & Staff” announcement in the coming months.
