Josh Chambers Named National African American Recognition Program Scholar
Indian Creek School is pleased to announce that senior Josh Chambers has been named a National African American Recognition Program Scholar by the College Board. The College Board's National African American Recognition Program is an academic honor for academically exceptional African American students who have scored in the top 10 percent of the state on the PSAT or earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP exams by their junior year. To qualify, students must also have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
In addition to his academic excellence, Josh contributes to the ICS community in many ways. He is a member of the ICS STEM program, where he is working on a senior capstone project researching the use of Electrical Stimulation Therapy for healing. Josh is a member of the Key Club, the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, a math tutor, a member of the ICS Mathletes, Treasurer of the National Honor Society, and a member of the Black Student Alliance and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Captain of the Varsity Basketball team, Josh is a basketball camp counselor at ICS and participates in AAU basketball outside of school. He has also been honored on the ICS Head's list and named an AP Scholar with Distinction.
Next year, Josh hopes to study Data Science in college and continue to play basketball. Congratulations to Josh on this well-deserved honor!
