Eagles Sailing Teams Return to the Water in Weekend Regattas

The Eagles Sailing Team completed their first Varsity event since May 2017 over St. Patrick's weekend. Indian Creek finished 9th overall at the local event hosted by Annapolis Yacht Club along with Severn Sailing Association. Senior Richard Burke skippered with crews Liam Lonergan '19 and Ted Ginsberg '19 in the heavily contested A-Division, while B-division was sailed by team captain James Corckran '19 as skipper with Jack Woolls '18 and Wil Morrissey '19 as crews.

The JV Team placed third in their first fleet race event of the season! The regatta was hosted at DC Sail’s new venue with temp and wind similar to Annapolis with temp high 30’s to low 40’s and winds 5-10 most of the day with light rain in afternoon. Co-Captain Ally Snead '19 skippered A-Division with crews Maeve Drury '19 and Sean Lonergan '20. Will Dickinson '23 skippered with crew Charlotte Dickenson '21 placing impressive 3rd in B-Division.

The team has only been out on the water for one very windy practice day, so very impressive start to the season. JV competes again after sping break on April 7 at Kent Island. The Varsity team looks forward to continued time on the water before their next event at Baltimore County Sailing Center April 28. Go Eagles!
