Creek Math Team Places Second in AACC Math Competition

On Saturday, September 20, the ICS Math Team took second place in the Anne Arundel Community College Math Competition. On the individual portion of the competition, Liam Lonergan '19 and Luke Smith '21 each scored 5 out of 6, while Jared Albert '19 and Ford Smith '19 scored 4 out of 6. There were also strong performances from Adam Bizri '19 and Sarah Hawes '21.

On the team portion, the highest scoring group earned a 5 out of 6. Overall, ICS came in second in the county, out of 15 schools. The team finished just one point behind first place Chesapeake Science Point, but ahead of Key School (3rd), Severna Park (4th), and Severn (5th).

This strong performance brings the ICS Math Team to third place overall for the year so far. The next AACC competition will be held on November 10.
