Creek Color Run Adds Vibrant Finish to Weekend of ICS Events
To cap off a vibrant weekend of Indian Creek events, over 250 members of the ICS community gathered at the Upper School to enjoy the 2019 CREEK Color Fun Run, David A. Nagey 5K/1 Mile Run. The atmosphere was full of Creek spirit, as families, friends, and faculty enjoyed fresh air, exercise, and a whole lot of color! Director of Campus Connections Bruce Crossman emceed the event, and the Indian Creek School Girls on the Run team warmed up the crowd, accompanied by Upper School teacher Ms. Werner.
The crowd welcomed the family of David A. Nagey, for whom the race is named. A percentage of the proceeds go to the David A. Nagey Foundation for Perinatal Outreach, Education, and Research, an organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of families and children. Dr. David Nagey cared for mothers enduring high-risk pregnancies and children throughout Maryland. He was an alumni parent dedicated to the Indian Creek school community where his two boys attended and his wife Elaine worked.
After a highly-anticipated count-down, the race began and runners of all ages became doused in color at the three color stations.
Thank you to all of our runners, our race sponsors, our volunteers, the Nagey Family, ICS Girls on the Run team, and the ICS Physical Plant for another incredible event!
Congratulations to our 2019 Creek Color Run awardees:
