Second Grade Students Become City Planners and Builders at National Building Museum

The Indian Creek School Class of 2028 enjoyed a fabulous field trip to the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, November 29. The second grade students became city planners and builders who had to coordinate and negotiate where various buildings should go. They learned about different land use categories, such as industrial, residential, institutional, commercial, and parks/gardens, and the importance of their placement within a city to maximize usage by the community and increase awareness about how to create a greener environment.  They were also able to explore the museum’s exhibits and discover cool local buildings and from around the world.  Thank you to the National Building Museum for a wonderful day!
