Upper School Celebrates Semaine Nationale Française

Bonne semaine nationale française! Every year the French Honor Society hosts a contest for ninth through twelfth grade students in honor of National French Week.  Society members design questions which address the connections in areas such as language (approximately 50% of English words have French roots) culture, history & science and technology between the United States and the francophone world.  This year's game-show style contest was held during an Upper School assembly, and led by FHS president Tory Walworth, with the assistance of Caroline Walworth and Sydney Williams.  Other society members assisted with judging, timing and scoring.  The seniors were victorious this year having identified French artists, writers, historical events and figures, Olympic facts and the national anthems of France and Canada.  As a reward, they will enjoy a donut breakfast in an upcoming senior meeting.
