Student Spotlight: Irene Goldstein '25

Irene joined ICS in the fall of 2018 as a 6th grader. She loves the connections that she has made with some of her teachers and they have really influenced her in lots of different ways. Irene considers herself to be a "humanities kid" and she really enjoys writing-intensive classes. She also enjoys singing in the chorus, swimming, track, sailing, and being involved in the musical. Outside of school, Irene also studies Korean.

Irene says "My fondest memory of ICS was every swim meet we went to. The team's energy was impeccable and our coach, Coach Kelly Boring, never failed to challenge us and push us to be our best. I also loved participating in the musical. The friends I made are friends for life and being able to perform with them was a truly magical experience." She believes that ICS has made me a better student by bringing her out of my comfort zone and teaching her valuable skills such as speaking up for myself, advocating on school matters, and evoking change that she wants to see. She is looking forward to going to University somewhere in Europe, most likely the University of Edinburgh, and continuing her passion and studies for investment and economics.
