Student Spotlight: Elia Alewine '24

Elia joined ICS for the 2020 school year as a freshman.  She is a varsity athlete who starts as a goalie for the champion lacrosse team and guard for the champion basketball team.  Elia is also the secretary of the One Love club, on the executive committee for EMPOWER, and a member of the National Honor Society and Eagles with a Purpose.  Outside of school, she plays club lacrosse for Integrity and volunteers at the Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Elia says “My biggest personal achievement is committing to play college lacrosse. It has been my dream since I was a little kid and something I've been working towards for a very long time so it is just the best feeling ever.”

Elia’s favorite subjects in school are English and Biology and she is looking forward to furthering her education and athletic accomplishments at Jacksonville University.  Her fondest memory of ICS “is a tie between the championships my lacrosse and basketball teams have won. There is no better feeling than getting to celebrate with my teammates.”

She says of her school: “My favorite thing about ICS is the culture and community. ICS has such a supportive and family-like culture which is amazing. Since coming to ICS I have created some amazing friendships and have had such caring and supportive teachers and coaches.”
