Student Spotlight: Kamrynn Hobbs ‘23

Kamrynn is entering her senior year at ICS and has been a Creeker since 2013! She is very active in school and is a member of BSA (Black Student Alliance), Green Club, Key Club, STEM, National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society, and Girls Who Code, Varsity Tennis Coed, and the Varsity Boys Basketball Manager!  Outside of school she is just as busy, spending her time working and volunteering for Community Missionary Support, Citi Open Ball person, Tennis Coach for Younger Children, Watering Service, Volunteering Elderly Support, Volunteering for Dog Care, and Sisters Rise Up.
“Science, history, and English are my favorite subjects at ICS,” she says, “I believe that all scientific professors have strong enthusiasm for the subjects they teach and always present knowledge in a pleasant and thorough manner. Furthermore, thanks to Dr. Dziennik, who I had during my sophomore and junior years, history has only recently become one of my favorite subjects. She has taught me the value of history and how we may use what we've learned in the future. Finally, English has quickly become one of my favorite subjects. Mr. Murphy, who taught me in 10th and 11th grade, instilled in me the value of writing. In addition, he has taught me how to write an article or essay in a variety of approaches, which I want to use in the future.”
Kamrynn is proud of “being accepted for a two-week summer program at Stevens Institute of Technology. Now, this may appear to be a minor achievement, but it was made possible by my school performance and the efforts of others who keep an eye on me at school. It made me proud to know that I am capable of completing even the most difficult jobs.” He fondest memory of ICS is “from 9th grade when our class went to Spruce Knob, West Virginia. That trip holds a special place in my heart because it was there that I met some of my most cherished friends.”
After graduation she is “most excited to see once I graduate is how my class and other groups of students apply their ICS experience in college or elsewhere. I'm looking forward to the day when I'll be able to tell others what a great school ICS was for me.”
