Student Spotlight: Delayni Bland ‘23

Delayni enters his senior year at ICS as SGA President Elect of the Upper School.  He joined ICS in 6th grade for the 2016-17 school year and is very active on and off campus.  A member of the National Honor Society, Black Student Alliance, Admissions Student Ambassador he also plays varsity tennis, coached middle school basketball and is the Sound Lead on the high school theater productions.  Outside of school he is part of the Youth Advanced Tennis group and youth ministry.

“My favorite thing about ICS is how connected the community is.  Indian Creek is a very connected community and I have always cherished that.  Everyone seems to love and want the best for the school and it creates a positive environment for everyone in the building.”

Delayni loved math classes and considers winning the SGA president election his biggest achievement at ICS.  “I believe in this position I will be truly able to show my love for ICS as it allows me to be more involved. I am truly excited to represent ICS.”

“My fondest memory of ICS are any of the Creek Cup events.  Every year they become bigger, better and more fun.  I love the pep rallies, the activities, and the games involved and I love being able to spend that time with my friends and making great memories.”

After graduation Delayni is “looking forward to exhibiting the skills and charact I have learned at Indian Creek in the real world and continuing to represent ICS in a positive fashion.”
