Senior Spotlight: Evan Selmer

Evan Selmer is enjoying his last season of baseball at Indian Creek before heading to UMBC to play for the Retrievers next year.  “I came to Indian Creek as a freshman, and obviously the baseball team has been favorite aspect of my time at the Creek, and it’s my main thing,” he shared.

Selmer, whose dad, Matt, is the head coach at Indian Creek, will play primarily as a pitcher at University of Maryland, Baltimore County, but for his Eagles team, he says, “I also play first base and third base or wherever I’m needed. I even had to play catcher freshman year.”

He said he will remember Mrs. Roth’s biology class and how helpful she was to him personally as a highlight of his academic career at Indian Creek. “I really liked Mrs. Roth’s biology class. Everything was very hands on, and she helped with everything,” he said. “She ended up writing my college recommendation letters.”

Selmer said he’ll fondly remember the close-knit community Indian Creek offers. Congratulations Evan!
