Senior Spotlight: Naomi Sheppard
Naomi Sheppard came to Indian Creek as a freshman and has collected many happy memories while at school. She played soccer all four years, serving as Captain her senior year and helping the Eagles varsity squad reach new heights by making the conference playoff final last season.
Sheppard cites the annual CREEKfest home games as highlights of her time as a student-athlete. “CREEKfest is one of my favorites, when we’d play all the soccer games, just the energy when you’re on the field and you’d hear the crowd,” Sheppard said.
Next year, Sheppard will continue playing soccer at the collegiate level for Limestone University. Her path of study could end up being an interest sparked here at Indian Creek. “My favorite subject has been computer science,” said Sheppard. “It’s something that’s new to me, and I find it really interesting. I didn’t know if I was going to like it, but it’s something I’m looking at as a major in college.”
Being together with her classmates in school for the final weeks of her senior year, Sheppard reflected on what has been most meaningful to her at Indian Creek. “Definitely the social aspect,” Sheppard said. “I’ve definitely found some of my best friends here, and I can tell it will continue on in college.”
