Ceramics Classes Create Spooktacular Works

Ms. Church's Upper School Ceramics students have been preparing for the season by creating Día de Muertos-inspired Calavera skull and skeleton pieces.  Calaveras refer to any artistic representations of skulls. The most widely known calaveras are created with cane sugar and are decorated with items such as colored foil, icing, beads, and feathers. While the ICS student works were created with clay and paint, they capture the bright, celebratory spirit of the art style.
