Fifth Graders Explore Laws of Conservation

This week, fifth grade students have been exploring the Laws of Conservation through a series of science labs.  Members of the Class of 2028 learned to use triple beam balances and perfected the art of reading a graduated cylinder through several hands on experiments.  Next, they observed the changing of states (from solid, to liquid, to gas) by measuring the weight of a candle every minute for ten minutes and then writing a lab report to explain what happened to the matter.
