Kendall '27 and Grady '27 Named Finalists in Zachary's Jewelers Mother's Day Design Contest

Congratulations to Indian Creek School fifth grade students Kendall Arnold and Grady Crapster who were both named finalists in the Zachary's Jewelers Mother's Day Design Contest.

This annual contest invites local fifth grade students to design a piece of jewelry for their mother.  Students are asked to draw the design, and specify what materials/gem stones should be used.  Each year, the professionals at Zachary's choose three pieces to craft into real-life pieces for the winners.

Kendall and Grady were announced as finalists at a virtual ceremony on Mother's Day Sunday, May 10. Kendall's design was even featured on the Zachary's website. Brittany, from Zachary's complimented Kendall's work, sharing "This design is super cool. I can see that Kendall was inspired by the well-known saying “I love you to the moon and back”, that we have become used to seeing in many children’s books. I also love her design because it is full of popular trends! Mixing white and yellow gold is becoming increasingly popular by the day. It is almost “rare” these days to come across a woman who prefers only one metal. She also chose to use Opals, which are blazing back into fashion and what a great gemstone to use to represent little planets! The “fire” in an Opal looks almost like a lit-up earth at a distance."

Great job Kendall and Grady!
