Varsity Girls Soccer Headed to Championships!

What a season it's been for our Eagles Varsity Girls Soccer team!  The team is headed to the IAAM C-Conference Championship game, after defeating Key School 2-1 in the semi-finals on Thursday, October 31. This is the first time girls soccer has played in the Championships in ICS history!

This team, who did not see a single win in the 2018 season, lacked the number of players needed to field a solid team at the beginning of 2019. So what did they do? Our girls continued to play game after game with no subs. These Eagles have exhibited great determination this fall, practicing two hours a day, six days a week for the past 2.5 months.  Their hard work payed off yesterday afternoon, as they fought back from a 0-1 deficit at halftime yesterday, to win the IAAM semi-finals 2-1 in overtime.

This exciting finish was incredibly rewarding for the Eagles players, parents, and fans. What a  fantastic show of perseverance, teamwork, and love of the game!
