Field Hockey Honors Seniors with Win Over (previously) Undefeated Mercy Magic

Wednesday's rain turned into Thursday's field of dreams as the Eagles hosted the undefeated Mercy Magic for Senior Night. Prior to the game the Eagles honored their outstanding quartet of seniors: Mariam Bizri, Sonia Homick, Liz Foster, and Kendyl Underwood. In the game, the Eagles were looking to reestablish their offense to match their outstanding defense after having not scored in the past two games, while only allowing one goal.

From the start it looked to be a hotly contested game with both sides generating attacks and penalty corners. However it was center striker Ellie Bear Sharma '21 who broke the Eagles' scoring drought with a reverse flick to the lower right corner in the first half to make the score 1-0.

From that point on it was up to the Eagles' defense. The strong tackling Kylie McLay '22 and Cate Malachowski '23 formed a solid wall in front of goalie Kendyl Underwood '20 and the Eagles' were able to get the victory and their 6th shutout of the season.

On Tuesday, the Eagles travel to Oldfields for their final regular season game. Go Eagles!
