Eagles 6-8 Girls Soccer Team Earns Exciting Win Over Rockbridge

The Eagles' Upper School (6-8) Girls Soccer Team earned an exciting 5-3 win over Rockbridge Academy on the Evergreen Campus fields on Friday, September 27.

After a season pursuing scoring chances, the girls broke into a brace of goals, and each one was a work of art. When the dust settled, sixth grader Marina Hemmer scored her ICS inaugural goal, while 'scoring machine' Parker Collins '24 totaled four for the day. (Goals were assisted by eighth graders Hannah Morely and Madison Hebron.)

The Eagles' defensive unit, comprised of Dylan Ulehla '24, Beth Christie '24, Paulina Snyder '24, and Campbell McCormick '24 covered tons of space and dominated their area. Goalkeeper Mya Duckett '24 had another great day defending the goal and fearlessly faced three penalty kicks.  Taylor Lewis '24, Autumn Ragula '24, and Sierra Stevenson '24 also contributed to the win, while seventh graders Arabelle Gemmell and Irene Goldstein created several offensive plays. Sixth graders Allison Antlitz, Malia Hydes, Maia Riley, Madison Sumpter, and Madison Watson were all integral to the game's positive outcome as well. Again, our parents and friends dominated the sidelines with tremendous cheering and support.

Good luck to the Eagles, as they take on School of the Incarnation this afternoon. Go CREEK!
