Jay Krizan '20 Named 2019 Capital Gazette Outstanding Student Achiever

The Capital Gazette honored their 2019 Outstanding Student Achievers this week. This esteemed list includes Indian Creek juniors Reese Fortier, Justine Krizan, and Sean Lonergan. The Capital honored these students at an awards ceremony in the Pascal Center at Anne Arundel Community College on Wednesday, March 13, and will feature them in an upcoming edition. Congratulations to Reese, Jay, and Sean on this achievement!

Justine Krizan

Justine “Jay” Krizan , Class of 2020, is a student whose creativity is highlighted in the rehearsal room, the classroom, and on the stage.
 
Jay works diligently to maintain a 4.05 GPA while taking AP United States History, AP Language and Composition and Precalculus, and is a member of the National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society.  She comes to life when speaking about her love of music. She plays over six different instruments, including the flute, clarinet, guitar, bass, drums, and piano. She has recently taken on the role of Assistant Musical Director for students in grades 9 through 12, teaching the music to other cast members, and even rewriting some parts to better fit the student!
 
Jay doesn’t just work behind the stage…she is an actor as well. As a freshman, she was cast in High School Musical as a Braniac/Thespian, was Bella in Lost in Yonkers, and has been cast in the 2019 production of Newsies as Crutchy.  Jay also serves as a Cappies Critic, reviewing high school productions throughout the Baltimore region.
 
Jay continues to amaze everyone around her with her focus on academics and keeping us all entertained in the auditorium.
