A core value of Indian Creek School is its unwavering commitment to excellence in education. On Wednesday, May 27, that commitment was celebrated in full as members of the Class of 2026 were honored for their academic achievements, artistic talents, and dedication to community service during the annual Upper School Awards Ceremony.
This annual event recognizes outstanding students across disciplines, highlighting the breadth and depth of talent within the Indian Creek community.
The ceremony opened with the presentation of the prestigious Senator Chris Van Hollen Public Service Award to Andrew Kokoski.
Academic excellence was further recognized through the Maryland State Merit Scholarship Award, granted to students whose GPA placed them in the top five percent of the class: Sean Manuel Cogburn-Enchautegui, Owen Crum, Joseph Patanella, Isabelle Sussman
Following this, departmental honors were awarded as follows:

Science Award: Norah Young
Spanish Award: Isabelle Sussman
STEM Award: Nolan Ayodeji
Theater Award: Grace Malachowski
Vocal Music Award: Isabelle Harries
The Indian Creek School Longevity Award was presented to Dagmawi Getachew, Marina Hemmer, Grace Malachowski, Isabelle Pardo, recognizing their full academic journey from Kindergarten through Grade 12 at ICS.
Sean Manuel Cogburn-Enchautegui was honored with the Senior Speech Award, a distinction for excellence in public speaking and personal reflection.
Lily Swope was honored for her contribution of the Class of 2026 Memory Painting.
In recognition of civic responsibility, several students were honored for their community engagement. The Community Service Award was awarded to Caton Crowder, Jordon Duckett, Campbell Goodburn, Madison Harris, Grace Malachowski, Norah Young for completing over 75 hours of service. An additional distinction for over 150 hours of service went to Carmen Emery, Liam Foley, Lukas Hummer, Andrew Kokoski, Brody McConville, Abigail Sadowski, Henry Sosman, Madison Sumpter, Isabelle Sussman, Kelsey Vickerman.
The Indian Creek School Alumni Award was presented to Madison Harris following the ceremony at the Green and Gold Dinner.
Head of School Booth Kyle remarked, “These awards are a testament to our students’ hard work, passion, and commitment to excellence. They inspire us all to reach higher and dig deeper in pursuit of knowledge and service.”
As the school year draws to a close, the Indian Creek community celebrates not just these achievements, but the spirit of dedication and curiosity that has defined the Class of 2026.
