Upper School Students Amplify Non-Profit Partnerships throughout Community Engagement Week

Indian Creek Upper School students turned purpose into action during Community Engagement Week, an initiative designed to amplify their impact on the local and global communities while showcasing the meaningful partnerships student clubs maintain with nonprofit organizations throughout the year. Rooted in the school’s core values of kindness and well-being, the week also provided students with hands-on leadership experience beyond the classroom.

This spring, Upper School student-led clubs were challenged to collaborate and create meaningful change through causes they care deeply about during the School's Community Engagement Week. The response was nothing short of inspiring, as over 100 students from eight campus organizations went above and beyond to make a difference in the local and global communities.

The EMPOWER Club collected essential items including soap, deodorant, and menstrual products for Chrysalis House, a nonprofit recovery center supporting women and their children. The Workmanship Club brought the community together through a campus pickleball tournament, raising more than $250 for men’s mental health initiatives. The Spanish Honor Society sold bracelets for the Pulsera Project, raising an impressive $1,875 to support fair trade artisans in Central America and expand educational opportunities.
One Love raised $600 through t-shirt sales benefiting the One Love Foundation, which educates young people about healthy relationships and works to prevent abuse. The Robotics Club prepared and packed lunches for the Light House Shelter, which provides critical services for individuals experiencing homelessness. The National Art Honor Society partnered with Lower School students during Arts Night, fostering creativity and connection across divisions. Meanwhile, the ninth grade Evergreen Fellows hosted a bake sale for the Blue Ribbon Project, raising more than $200 to support youth development and wellness initiatives. The Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society contributed by offering additional tutoring sessions for middle and high school students, building on their ongoing commitment to academic support.

The week concluded with a volunteer fair, connecting students with local organizations and opportunities to continue their service beyond campus. Through Community Engagement Week, Indian Creek students transformed their passions into purposeful action, strengthening community ties, growing as leaders, and making a lasting impact.
