Student Spotling: Amelia Addeo '28

The inspiration came from a previous summer spent volunteering with the same organization. That experience drove her to organize donations and personally deliver them during her trip. The response was unforgettable, watching children light up over new supplies and even small gifts like hairbrushes and toy cars. “A couple of girls cried when they got a hairbrush,” she recalls. “It’s little things that bring so much joy.”

Amelia’s efforts didn’t stop there. After two trips, she’s already planning the next phase: shifting her focus to baby essentials like bottles, onesies, and toys for the youngest members of the program. What started as a school project is growing into an annual family tradition, with her mom, relatives, and friends joining in. Each summer, the group spends mornings learning Spanish before heading out to serve, an experience Amelia says makes the work even more meaningful.

Back at the Creek, Amelia balances her humanitarian passion with a full slate of academics and extracurriculars. A Dean’s List student, she’s thriving in Spanish III and Algebra II, and she’s discovered a love for math and science. Outside the classroom, she’s a dedicated member of the volleyball team and active in Key Club and Green Club.
For Amelia, these projects are more than charity, they are inspiration for her dreams of the future. “I want to do something with justice,” she says thoughtfully. “No matter what your background looks like, you should still get what you need.” With her drive and heart, it’s clear Amelia is just getting started.
