ICS Basketball Program Director and Head Coach Casey Corkin Selected for Duke University's Kara Lawson Basketball Camp, Bringing Elite Coaching Insights Back to Indian Creek
This summer, Indian Creek's Basketball Program Director and Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach Casey Corkin was selected to serve as an instructor and coach at the prestigious Kara Lawson Basketball Camp, held at Duke University. Corkin was given an incredible opportunity to learn from and work alongside some of the best minds in women's basketball.
Over four days, Coach Corkin worked with 170 girls from rising third through 12th grade, leading drills, coaching games, and helping players develop not only their basketball skills but their confidence and love for the game. Collaborating with more than 20 high school and collegiate coaches from across the country, he was able to exchange ideas and learn new ways to inspire and develop young athletes.
A defining highlight of the experience was learning from Kara Lawson, head coach of Duke Women's Basketball, and her staff. Her camp's renowned emphasis on discipline, resilience, and confidence deeply resonated with Coach Corkin, and reinforced the values that he strives to instill in Creek student-athletes every day.
Coach Corkin's coaching camp experience embodies Indian Creeks' commitment to continued learning and excellence in teaching and coaching. As he brings new ideas and fresh perspectives back to campus, Creek students will continue to benefit from his commitment to growing alongside them.
