Joelle Johnson '25 Named Patriot League Rookie of the Year

Joelle Johnson, a 2025 graduate of ICS, has made an immediate and impressive impact on the Bucknell University women's golf team, earning the 2026 Patriot League Rookie of the Year award in her first collegiate season.

Johnson was named the 2026 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, while also earning a spot on the All-Patriot League Second Team. The honor caps a standout freshman season with a Bison program that won a program-record four tournaments in 2025-26 and set 36 and 54-hole records at the Bucknell Invitational.  These results had Bucknell ending the season with the most wins in Patriot League history.

Johnson led the team in the fall with a 74.1 average over five events, posting four top-10 finishes and shooting one round under par. She earned two Patriot League Golfer of the Week honors during the season, including one after a second-place finish at the Battle at the Creek.

Johnson came to Bucknell as the No. 1 ranked girls golfer in Maryland in 2025, having captained the Indian Creek golf team and led the squad to two MIAA C Conference championships. A two-time MIAA C Conference Athlete of the Year, she was the only female on an otherwise all-boys team and played from the boys' tees which Joelle credits for helping her prepare for the college game.

Her golf journey began in Switzerland, where she lived for eight years, and included a win at the junior tournament on the Evian Resort Golf Club — a course that hosts an LPGA major championship.

Congratulations, Joelle — Creek is proud of you!
