¡Felicidades! Indian Creek Celebrates National Spanish Honor Society Inductees

On Wednesday, September 24, the Upper School proudly hosted the annual induction ceremony for the ICS Chapter of the National Spanish Honor Society, El Círculo del Árbol. Chapter Advisor Ms. Tanya Berkowitz warmly welcomed faculty, students, and guests before introducing the chapter officers. Seniors Tristen Kerr, Maddy Hunt, James Younger, and Solomon Younger led an engaging and educational presentation in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, highlighting the rich history, cultural values, and contributions of Hispanic culture and communities.

Following the presentation, current and new members gathered at the front of the auditorium for the ceremonial candle-lighting. The new inductees then proudly recited the chapter’s pledge:

“As a member of the Chapter ‘El Círculo del Árbol’ I promise to devote myself to the study of the Spanish language and culture in order to master it. I promise to remember that a language can be a strong tie between people with different identities and backgrounds. As a global citizen, I promise to promote friendship and understanding both within my community and abroad. This is my promise and my oath.”

After taking the pledge, the new members were presented with their official certificates and welcomed into the society as full members.
