Hats Off to the Indian Creek School Class of 2025!

This month, Indian Creek School proudly celebrates the accomplishments of the Class of 2025, a cohort that has consistently embodied the Creek vision of kindness, well-being, and excellence

Oh, the places they'll go!
The Class of 2025's academic prowess was celebrated at an Academic Awards Assembly earlier this month. Their academic strength is also reflected in their impressive college application statistics. The 55 seniors secured 340 offers of admission to 157 different colleges, universities, and trade schools, world-wide. Notably, 17% of the class applied through Early Decision, committing to their top-choice schools in the fall.

This year's graduates will be attending an exciting array of colleges and universities, that includes ivy league schools, large state universities, small liberal arts colleges, "little ivies," city schools, trade schools, international universities, honors programs, and more. The Creekers will matriculate at schools including Brown University, the University of California at Berkeley, Columbia University, Wesleyan University, St. Andrews University of Scotland, and Trinity College of Dublin, among many others.

Indian Creek's commitment to fostering intellectual curiosity is evident in the STEM theses completed by standout students:
  • Jake Berry: Creating and Observing Infinity Mirrors – An exploration into light, perception, and the science of reflection. Berry's project delved into the interplay of light and mirrors to create the illusion of infinite depth, blending artistic creativity with scientific principles.
  • Tommy Burton: Developing an Autonomous UAV for Waypoint Missions – A deep dive into drone navigation and autonomous systems. Burton's research focused on building a fully autonomous drone capable of executing complex waypoint missions with precision.
  • Sophie Geismar: 3D Printing in Medicine: Bioprinting and Prosthetics – A look at how emerging technology is reshaping modern healthcare. Geismar explored how 3D printing technology is revolutionizing medical treatments, specifically in the fields of bioprinting and prosthetics.
  • Arabelle Gemmell: Arabidopsis thaliana and Epigenetics – A sophisticated study of plant genetics and the molecular mechanisms that influence them. Gemmell's thesis examined the genetic regulation in plants, shedding light on how environmental factors can affect genetic expression.
Additionally, three seniors demonstrated deep curiosity and a commitment to excellence by completing, presenting, and defending Voros Theses in the Humanities:
  • Naima Bead – “To Preserve, and Defend the Constitution: A Comparative Analysis of the Trump and Biden Administrations’ Interpretation of the U.S. Constitution”
  • Irene Goldstein – “The Backbone of the Highlands; Black cattle and the Rural Economy of the Scottish Highlands, ca. 1700-1815”
  • Sophia O’Connell – “The Evolution of Fact-Checking in General Televised Presidential Debates from1960-2020” [Completed with Distinction]
Excelling Outside the Classroom
In addition to their academic success, the Class of 2025 shone in athletics and the arts. Making Creek history, the Class of 2025 is the first class to be crowned four-time Creek Cup Lip Sync battle champions, solidifying their legacy as one of the most spirited and competitive classes in the school's history. Moreover, four graduates will pursue their passions as collegiate visual and performing artists, while six student-athletes have committed to competing at the collegiate level. This class has been a part of six IAAM or MIAA league championships, including the school’s first B Conference championship, and staged eight memorable theatrical productions.  There is an athlete in this class who was named MIAA Athlete of the Year twice, and it's worth mentioning that this young woman competed in a boy’s league.

A Legacy of Excellence
As these graduates step into the next phase of their academic and professional journeys, the legacy of the Indian Creek School Class of 2025 serves as a model of excellence and school spirit. Their collective accomplishments underscore a commitment to learning, innovation, and community that will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations at Indian Creek School.

Congratulations to the Indian Creek School Class of 2025 – the future is bright, and the possibilities are endless.
