ESports Club Hosts Super Smash Bros. Tournament

Indian Creek became the ultimate battle zone after school last Friday, January 17, as the Upper School ESports club hosted their inaugural ICS ESports tournament. Around 50 students, representing teams from four local public and private schools, including McDonough, Key, and Northeast High, gathered throughout the Upper School for a gaming tournament.

Competitors battled tournament-style through a bracket of Super Smash Bros. and other Nintendo Switch-based games on the School's large screen tvs. The event culminated in the championship round, held on the big projection screen in the auditorium.

This exciting event 100% spearheaded by students, led by Drew Jones '20. Indian Creek's own Jai Richardson '20 took home the tournament trophy as ESports Champion.

The ESports club would like to thank faculty advisor Doug McNally, as well as facilities staff Donna Crouch, IT team Doug McCuiston and Ben Gehle, Dean of Grades 7-8 Carol Mercer, and Interim Head of Upper School Matt McCormick for their support and guidance. We are already looking forward to next year's event!
