Math: Real-World Applications

Grades 5-8
June 22 - July 17
Foundational Course

Did you know that everything we do revolves around mathematical thinking? Have you ever thought, “Why do I need to learn this?” Do you like working with numbers or wish you felt more comfortable in math?

Come explore with Indian Creek Mathematics Teacher, Stacy Kornmeyer as she shows how the math you are learning applies to the world around you. During this four-week course, students will work with patterns, operations, ratios, expressions, equations, and problem-solving strategies. Students will be able to choose among a variety of engaging projects to apply their mathematical thinking to an authentic real-world scenario to see numbers in action!

Mrs. Kornmeyer will meet with the entire class and in small groups to ensure every student’s journey strengthens and reinforces skills needed to be ready for next school year.
