Exploring Egypt

Grades 5-8
July 6 - August 1

Enrichment Course

Uncover ancient mysteries as you read
The Kane Chronicles, Rick Riordan's young adult series.  Follow the adventures of the story’s magical siblings as they defend the modern world from waking Egyptian gods and goddesses.  Each book in this three-part series will provide a new focal point to guide students to a deeper understanding of Ancient Egyptian culture, mythology, and history.

Created and taught by ICS’s own faculty member Tina Alexander, this course will count as the ICS summer reading requirement for rising fifth and sixth grade students.  It will count as three of the four required summer novels for rising seventh and eighth grade students.

Exploring Egypt will have a face-to-face or synchronous meeting during the first week that will be scheduled based on social distancing guidelines and participants’ preferences.
