Maddy Evans '19 Named Baltimore Sun High School Athlete of the Week

Indian Creek Senior Maddy Evans is named the Baltimore Sun's High School Athlete of the Week for the week of December 5, 2018. 

The senior guard, a four-year starter, was named the Most Valuable Player at the Annapolis Area Christian School’s Eagles Classic over the weekend after leading Indian Creek to the tournament win.

On Friday, she opened the tournament with a 23-point performance in a 54-33 win over Severn and then scored six points as the Eagles (4-0) defeated host AACS, 37-31, in Saturday’s title game. On Nov. 27, Evans opened the week with 10 points in a 40-27 win over Gerstell Academy. On the season, Evans is averaging 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and seven steals per game.

Last season, the Capital Gazette named Evans a first-team all-county selection in Anne Arundel after she averaged 17 points, nine rebounds, four steals and two assists per game.

Evans is 48 points away for reaching 1,000 career points.
