Laila Ivey '22 and Sarah Hawes '21 Named to All-Anne Arundel County Volleyball Team

Indian Creek is proud to announce that freshman Laila Ivey has been named to the 2018 All-Anne Arundel County first Volleyball team and sophomore Sarah Hawes has been named to the 2018 All-Anne Arundel County second Volleyball team. This honor comes after the girls helped lead their team to the IAAM Championship title in their inaugural season this fall. The full list of All-County team members can be found in The Capital Gazette at this link.

First Team
Laila Ivey, Fr., Indian Creek, outside hitter
The newcomer for the new team in the IAAM, Ivey had 239 kills, 103 blocks, 98 aces and 29 assists for the C Conference champion Eagles.
“Laila is our ‘Court Beast’ that has intimidated our opponents all season, averaging over 20 kills a game,” coach Corey Somerville said. “She is the most electrifying hitter in the conference. She leads all drills in practice and mentors those around her on the team.”

Second Team
Sarah Hawes, So., Indian Creek, setter

Congratulations Laila and Sarah!
