National Art Honor Society Students Celebrate Halloween with First Grade Students for a Good Cause

Creek Connections were in full force as Lower School families invited three Upper School National Art Honor Society members to join the younger students to paint faces at a Halloween party for a good cause.  Seniors Parker Booth and Ally Snead, along with sophomore Olivia Boucher were a huge hit with the first grade students. To make the celebration even more fun, each family brought a bag of candy to donate to our cause, “Treats for Troops." The kids all decorated a huge banner to include with the candy which will be shipped to our US troops serving overseas. First grade Parent Erin Rubac shared the motivation behind this party: "Our hope is that all those mommys and daddys deployed will be able to enjoy a little piece of Halloween in lieu of not being able to trick or treat with their little one(s)." This event provided a perfect segway to talk to the kids about ICS’s Veteran’s Day tribute/assembly coming up in November. Our first graders had a great time and are super excited for the Veteran's Day assembly.
