Indian Creek Board of Trustees Announces New Head of School

Dear Indian Creek Community,

The Indian Creek School (ICS) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Booth Kyle will be the next Head of School at Indian Creek.

Booth currently serves as the Associate Head at Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington. Lakeside School is a co-ed school for grades 5-12, known for its innovation, academic excellence, and commitment to a vibrant and diverse school community. At Lakeside, Booth is primarily responsible for overseeing Admission and Financial Aid, Athletics, Global Education (academic and service trips around the world), Lakeside's Educational Enrichment Program (an endowed program to provide enrichment to Seattle public school students), and Summer School Programs. He also chairs the Programs Group (responsible for auxiliary and experiential programs) and was a part of Lakeside's efforts to open The Downtown School: A Lakeside School, a micro-school committed to providing a more affordable independent school option for academically talented students in downtown Seattle.

Booth Kyle has served in a variety of roles in independent schools over the years, holding the positions of Director of Financial Aid, Associate Director of Admission, and a Board of Trustee member. He also won a New England championship as head crew coach.

Booth earned his B.A. in U.S. History from Connecticut College, where he was a four-year letter winner in crew, and he holds a Masters in Education, Curriculum, and Teaching from Boston University.

Booth and Colleen have two children: Aidan (a high-school senior who is currently looking at East Coast colleges) and Devin (a high-school freshman and volleyball player.) They are excited to move to the Annapolis area and to integrate into the ICS community.

Booth provided the following message to the Indian Creek Community:
"I am thrilled to be returning to an area of the country where both Colleen and I have meaningful family connections. While the school's location is important to us, we saw right away that Indian Creek is full of warm and engaged educators that inspire students in the classrooms, on the stage, and on the courts and fields.

Indian Creek is a school in motion, and I will help to set a pace that ensures that Indian Creek continues to establish itself as a national leader in teaching and learning, that unifies the school on one campus, and emphasizes best practices in school operations.
For all of these reasons we couldn't be more excited. Colleen, Aidan, Devin, and I all look forward to rooting our family in this special place and school."

Booth will begin work at ICS on July 1, 2019.

When Booth and his family arrive, I know that we will all join together to welcome the Kyles to ICS! We are incredibly fortunate to have Booth as our next Head of School and he is excited to interact with our students and parents and to work with our faculty and staff.

It is an exciting time at Indian Creek and Booth will be an enthusiastic and inspirational leader for years to come. We believe that Booth is the best person to lead ICS on the next leg of its incredibly awesome journey.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we share this great news and we welcome Booth Kyle and his family to Indian Creek.

Sincerely,

Lynne I. Sullivan
