Eagles Runners Conquer 'Death Hill' at First 6-8 XC Meet

The Eagles kicked off the 2018 Cross Country season in style on Thursday, September 20, with a successful first meet at Rockbridge Academy! The entire team tackled Rockbridge’s tough course and attacked “Death Hill” with aplomb. The veteran Eagles did an excellent job helping to prepare our awesome new runners for the challenging course and conditions. Our top finisher was in the girls’ race with Captain Grace Doerschner '24 coming in fourth overall in a huge field of over 100 girl. Veteran Hannah Morley '24 who is returning from injury and fantastic new Eagle, Natalie Swope '24 finished securely in the top half of runners. Strong finishes also by Bennett Bucci '24 (33rd and beating his PR to a 19:07 finish), Captain Tommy Franklin '23, Palmer Bice '25, Jackson Bear '24, and Sam Favazza '25. We are expecting a great season with this highly motivated and talented group of runners! Eagles…. SOAR!
