Mikey Troese '18 Named Capital Gazette Athlete of the Week
Indian Creek is proud to announce that senior Mikey Troese is this week’s Capital Gazette Athlete of the Week!
Troese scored nine goals in games against Mount Carmel, Beth Tfiloh and Key. He added four assists and 29 ground balls, including 13 ground balls in Friday’s win over Key. A defender, Troese has played on offense and defense nearly every minute of the Eagles’ last four games using his long pole.
“Micheal has really stepped up to help us out on the offensive end of the field. He's consistently been our best on-ball defender and seems to lead us in ground balls every game,” coach Jason Werner said. “He has always had a knack for turning defense into offense, and due to some injuries and illness we asked him to stay on the field with his long pole and be a scorer as well.” Congratulations Mikey!
