Third Grade Steps Back in Time at Historic London Town and Gardens

The Indian Creek Class of 2027 stepped back in time on Wednesday, April 4, as they visited Historic London Town and Gardens in Edgewater, Maryland. To supplement their studies of Early American History, the third grade explored this "lost" colonial town and garden sanctuary on the South River. During their visit, students learned about life and daily activities in the port town of London Town around 1760. The students toured the William Brown House colonial tavern, as well as historically accurate reconstructions of the Lord Mayor's Tenement and Carpenter Shop. They learned about specific people who lived in the town and even tried on authentic colonial costumes. Students also tried their hands at carving shingles, grinding corn into flour, and making rope. Thank you to the people at Historic London Town and Gardens for a memorable visit!
