Liam Lonergan '19 Named 2018 Capital Gazette Outstanding Student Achiever

The Capital Gazette announced their 2018 Outstanding Student Achievers this week. This esteemed list includes Indian Creek juniors Parker Booth, Maddy Evans, and Liam Lonergan. While the Awards Ceremony had to be postponed until April due to inclement weather, the Capital featured these students in this week's edition. Congratulations to Parker, Maddy, and Liam on this achievement!

Liam Lonergan
Liam Lonergan is a perfect example of a hard-working, intelligent, well rounded student who is respected by both teachers and peers alike.

Liam works diligently to maintain his 4.24 GPA while taking AP Calculus AB, AP U.S. History, AP Chemistry, AP Spanish, Biology and 2D Studio Art 2.

He serves as the President of the Junior Class, the Vice President of the National Art Honor Society, the Secretary of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispanicá, and is a member of the school’s National Honor Society chapter.

Liam is also a member of our STEM program. His project focuses on the effect of oil on coastal vegetation. As an Eagle Scout, Liam worked to build more habitats for the Eastern Blue Bird. He is also an Admission Ambassador, giving tours to prospective families.

As a member of both the varsity sailing team and cross-country team, Liam proves that he is a valued member of our athletic program. Whether or not Liam is on water at the Eastport Yacht Club, or on the trail, he delivers results for Indian Creek. He is consistently Indian Creek School’s number one runner at conference meets.

Liam understands where his strengths are as a student and an athlete and capitalizes on the time he has without burning the candle at both ends. He is incredibly balanced.
