French Honor Society Inducts New Members

The National French Honor Society held its  traditional induction ceremony on Friday, March 9, which involves passing the flame of knowledge. Inductees Janeiyah Cajudoy '21, Zara DuBoyce '20, Cameron Lacey '19, and Grace Walworth '20 lit their candles from the central flame and recited the pledge in French. Mrs. Chambers, faculty sponsor, spoke about the value of learning a foreign language in general, and of the French language in particular. She mentioned the extensive use of French in the global marketplace in numerous technology areas, business and finance, and government organizations. The commonality in our languages resulting from exchanges in these areas has made French an especially valuable tool in learning English as well. Whatever language is chosen, she encouraged students to take advantage of as many opportunities to pursue language as possible.Congratulations to all of our new members!

The French Honor Society will be sponsoring the annual Red Cross Blood Drive at the Upper School on May 18.
