Class of 2022 Experiences Poignant World War II Field Trip

The Indian Creek School Class of 2022 experienced a poignant field trip to Washington, DC, on Friday, February 23, as they visited several museums to support their American History studies of World War II. The students spent some contemplative time at the outdoor WWII memorial, where they took a tour and participated in a scavenger hunt. They then visited the American History Museum, and enjoyed lunch together at the Air and Space Museum. To culminate their day, the eighth grade class spent the afternoon at the Holocaust Museum. This powerful experience was especially meaningful to the students, as they had the opportunity to speak with French Holocaust Survivor Joel Nommick during their visit. Teacher Brad Woodward noted that this class was exemplary in their thoughtful debriefing of the experience when they returned to school.
