Melanie Morgan '30 Wins High Gold at Dance Educators Association Competition

A Creek CONGRATULATIONS goes out to six year old Kindergarten student, Melanie Morgan ‘30, who traveled to Newark, New Jersey, over President’s Day weekend to compete in the Annual Dance Educators of America Regional Competition.

Alongside her fellow dance company members from Spotlight Studio of Dance in Millersville, MD, Melanie spent three days performing five dance routines, including her debut solo dance “Baby I’m A Star” by Prince!  A very befitting song, Melanie was awarded High Gold in three categories including Solo, Duo, and Group performance, and received a scholarship to the DEA National Convention and Competition hosted this Summer in West Palm Beach!

Melanie has been dancing since the young age of two, currently practicing four days a week.  Her commitment and passion doesn’t plan to stop; Melanie will continue with the dance competition season, competing next in Baltimore on March 9. We wish her all the best!
