Varsity Field Hockey Drops Close Match to Severn Admirals

Sophomore goalkeeper Kendyl Underwood had another amazing game in the goal for Indian Creek, keeping the Eagles in tight match Wednesday against Severn School. The game stayed locked at 0-0 throughout the first half. The Eagles defense held strong, preventing the Admirals from scoring in any of their 19 trips into the defensive circle in the first 30 minutes of the game. However, eight minutes into the second half, Severn’s Abigail Poindexter scored the lone goal for Severn after a flurry of six consecutive penalty corners earned by the Admirals. Junior Paige Wells played one of her best games so far this season in the midfield for Indian Creek. She did an outstanding job eliminating in 1 v 1 situations and transferring the ball giving the Eagles a few offensive opportunities to stay in the game. Although Indian Creek was not able to convert on any of those offensive opportunities, they did earn one penalty corner and two shots on goal. Kendyl Underwood finished the game with 10 saves.

The Eagles squad will play again on Friday at Annapolis Area Christian School. Go Eagles!
